In Lancaster, the organizers of the summer school are committed to widening participation and encouraging students from all different backgrounds to consider Higher Education. Each year over 6,000 students are welcome from schools and colleges across the UK to the campus.

Lancester Summer Schools provide the opportunity for students to experience the different aspects that a university education can provide. Students are given the opportunity to study a subject of their choice and develop key skills for HE including academic writing, presentation skills, and teamwork. They also meet and make new friends and get involved in exciting sports and social activities that make up part of the Lancaster student experience.
